Global public affairs strategy firm Oaktree Solutions today announced that Tian Weinberg has joined the firm as Chief Operations Officer. In her new role, Weinberg will oversee the firm’s daily operations, ensuring Oaktree delivers on its core mission of helping clients navigate the complex terrain of New York at the intersection of business, politics, and government affairs.
Prior to joining Oaktree, Weinberg served as Chief of Staff at the New York City Department of Small Business Services, where she directed the agency’s operations, public affairs, and strategic initiatives. During her tenure, she led efforts to expand small business access to capital, connect tens-of-thousands of New Yorkers to steady careers, enhance neighborhood development and public spaces throughout the five boroughs, and empower minority- and women-owned businesses in city contracting — as New York City’s economy surged from COVID-19 to a record-level of jobs and small businesses.
“What excites me about joining Oaktree Solutions is that we take an impact-making mentality and form creative partnerships between business, non-profits, and government agencies to get things done,” said Weinberg. “Navigating city government is a challenge, but when you get it right, the results are rewarding.”
As COO, Weinberg will leverage her operational expertise to strategize and manage Oaktree’s rapid growth. She will serve as a liaison between Oaktree’s leadership and team, fostering new growth, new opportunities, and consistently delivering value to Oaktree’s clients.
“Tian is an invaluable addition to our growing team, offering sound operational strategy and judgment as we continue to grow,” said Oaktree Solutions Founder and Chairman Frank Carone. “She has a history of successful delivery across numerous New York City priorities and will be an incredibly valuable asset to our clients seeking ambitious and effective impact.”
Weinberg has a proven track record of leading strategic campaigns that advance economic justice, including at public affairs firm BerlinRisen where she supported national clients to win the historic “Fight for $15” campaigns in California, Florida, and Arizona, organize the first union of bank workers in more than 50 years, and coordinate shareholder advocacy that resulted in leadership and policy changes at McDonald’s, Facebook, and Wells Fargo. She has also served as a speechwriter, policy director, and press secretary.
