Black Trailblazer: Oaktree’s Jayson Williams Honored by City & State
Jayson Williams, Oaktree Solutions’ Managing Director of Sports Ventures has been recognized in City & State’s first-ever Black Trailblazers awards. The inaugural award honors outstanding Black leaders shaping New York’s business, real estate, labor, social services and advocacy landscapes.
Williams was recognized for both his athletic legacy – as a member of St. John’s University’s Hall of Fame and as an NBA All-Star on the Nets – as well as the impact he has made using his “lived experience to help others…overcome addiction and incarceration.”
In addition to providing mentorship, career and leadership development, and business advisory services in his role at Oaktree Solutions, Williams is the founder of Rebound on the Road, a non-profit organization delivering workforce development training to help individuals struggling with the impacts of incarceration and substance abuse re-enter the workforce and transform their lives. Rebound recently announced a partnership with Nassau County to serve local residents.
